서울이 발광하는 광원이라면, 그 기술·정치적 인프라는 마치 편광필름¹처럼 작동하며 강을 낭만적이고 청결한 이미지로 정렬한다. <River Film>은 이 필터의 구조를 다룬다. 작품에는 교각과 와류, 제방과 토사, 윤슬과 슬러지가 함께 등장한다. 이들은 모두 같은 강에 속해 있지만, 어느 것은 풍경으로 선택되고 어느 것은 누락된다. <River Film>은 잔여의 자체적 힘을 끌어들이며, 아름다운 한강 이미지의 토대를 다시 묻는다. 풍경과 찌꺼기를 가르는 경계는 강 위에 있지 않다.

Seoul functions as a luminous source, while its technological and political infrastructures operate like a polarizing film¹, aligning the river into a romanticized and sanitized image. <River Film> addresses the structure of this filtering mechanism.
In the work, bridge piers and vortices, embankments and sediment, shimmering reflections and sludge appear together. All belong to the same river, yet some are selected as landscape while others are omitted. <River Film> draws in the autonomous force of the residual, re-examining the foundations of the aestheticized image of the Han River. The boundary that separates scenery from debris does not lie on the river itself.
